There should be attached an Apostille to your original documents to comply with the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 requirements of validity and recognition of foreign public documents valid outside the Republic of Bulgaria. There are ten requisites contained therein, providing information, attributes and legalization number subject to verification.

Apostilles are attached to the Bulgarian documents by three government institutions and bodies:

  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • National Information and Documentation Center (NIDOC)
  • Ministry of Justice

Where there is a document subject to translation and legalization, it shall be translated by a sworn translator, attesting that the translation is a true, complete and accurate translation of the original document by a manuscript signature affixed hereunder. The Consular Relations Section to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides document authentication services.

All authenticated documents are subject to certification by diplomatic missions to comply with the government requirements of many countries.

All documents issued in foreign countries must be authenticated with an Apostille by the competent government institutions and bodies. Where there are bilateral legal advisory service conventions in place, all documents are subject to translation and authentication by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We perform legalization of documents at all government institutions, embassies and notary public offices within the Republic of Bulgaria.

Documents legalization terms range from types of documents to authentication terms of authenticating institutions.
